I love music.  All genres.  My first album, (does that date me?) was Carole King's Tapestry.

I played it over and over.  I loved that the words were written on the back cover so I could sing along.

Last weekend, I saw the Broadway musical "Beautiful -The Carole King Story"  with two of my long time girlfriends.  It was amazing to hear all of the songs Carole had written in the 1950's and 1960's.  When they started playing "Will you love me tomorrow", "It's Too Late", and "You've Got A Friend", I got a little emotional.

Memories came rolling back- laying on my bed singing these songs.  The angst of unrequited love.  And the Friends still by my side!  It was a very good feeling!

I have been singing that  last song, "Beautiful" since I left the theatre.

I came home, and dug out that album.   And started singing!

"You have to get up every morning with a smile on your face, and show the world all the love in your heart, and people are going to treat you better, you will find, yes you will, you're as Beautiful as you feel!!!!"

I am still singing!  Please join me!

Hello from Texas!

I am a little nervous as I am writing my first post as a blogger.  So, I will start out by telling you a little about myself.  I am a Native Texan, and I stay here by choice, as my family is here.  I am married with an 18 year old Special Needs son, which has kept me very busy.  I tell people I am a full time Mom and Volunteer.  I also teach Yoga.  I have worked in the cosmetic industry for over 33 years, the last 20 being part time. I like traveling, and I have seen my fair share of the United States.  I love the beaches in Mexico, I have enjoyed the city of London and the English countryside, and I dream of going to Italy.

Today, I wanted to share with you a story about a Mom who speaks up after son with Down syndrome is excluded from a classmate's birthday party.  At first, I was not sure what the Mom would say.  But after reading the article yesterday, and seeing the latest update today, I felt compelled to share this with everyone.

The world is not one color, sex, or nationality.  We are all different, yet much the same.  It is these differences that makes each one unique.  Many times there is fear when faced with differences.  I feel knowledge gives acceptance and understanding.   This Mom decided to educate the world on  Down Syndrome.  I applaud Jennifer Kiss-Engele.  The more we know, the more we understand.  Don't be afraid to ask, if you don't know.   It could change your life.  I know my life has changed when the doctor placed my son in my hands.  He has made a world of difference in my life, and many, many others.  It is nice knowing an angel on Earth.
